Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Pizza Dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup Ricotta Cheese
- 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella
- ½ cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 1–2 cups Your Choice of Fillings (pepperoni, veggies, cooked sausage, etc.)
- 1–2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (optional)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and your chosen fillings. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle, about ¼ inch thick.
- Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into smaller circles (about 6 inches in diameter). You should get around 4-6 circles.
- Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling onto one half of each dough circle. Be careful not to overfill.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges together tightly and use a fork to crimp the edges for extra security.
- Lightly brush the tops of the calzones with olive oil.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the calzones in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove the calzones from the air fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Feel free to customize the fillings based on your family’s preferences. You can also bake these calzones in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes if you don’t have an air fryer.
