Description

This Savory Beef and Bowtie Pasta is a comforting meal that brings family together around the dinner table. It’s quick to prepare and packed with rich flavors and satisfying textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz/400 g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions (about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they soften. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the heavy cream. Allow it to heat through for a couple of minutes, creating a luscious sauce.
  7. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Let it warm up for an additional minute.
  8. Plate the pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your cozy family dinner!

Notes

Feel free to customize the ingredients! You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option or add in more vegetables.
