Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225 g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (14 oz/400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions (about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they soften. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the heavy cream. Allow it to heat through for a couple of minutes, creating a luscious sauce.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Let it warm up for an additional minute.
- Plate the pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your cozy family dinner!
