Description
The aroma of crispy bacon mingling with roasted Brussels sprouts is enough to make anyone’s mouth water. This dish is a delightful combination of smoky, salty, and slightly sweet flavors that pairs perfectly with festive meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Brussels sprouts: Trim the ends and cut them in half. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until all are well coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chopped bacon with the Brussels sprouts, spreading it out evenly over the baking sheet.
- Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy and the bacon is cooked through.
- If using balsamic vinegar, drizzle it over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting for extra flavor.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let cool for a minute before serving.
Notes
Make sure your Brussels sprouts are all about the same size for even cooking. If your baking sheet is too crowded, use two sheets.
