Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches

  • Author: Tessa
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These fried strawberry cheesecake sandwiches combine creamy cheesecake, sweet strawberries, and crispy bread for a delightful treat. Perfect for brunch or dessert, they are quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of bread (brioche preferred)
  • 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, chopped strawberries, and vanilla extract. Use a whisk or electric mixer to blend until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. Take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the cheesecake filling on one slice. Top with another slice of bread to create a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining slices.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In another bowl, place the flour, and in a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip each sandwich first into the flour, making sure to coat both sides. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
  5. In a frying pan, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom, about 1/2 inch deep. Heat over medium-high heat until hot.
  6. Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  7. Once fried, transfer the sandwiches to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar!

Notes

For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. You can also customize the filling with different fruits.
