Description

A rich and creamy steak pasta recipe with a luscious garlic sauce that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin, ribeye, or flank steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 oz fettuccine, spaghetti, or penne
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the steak: Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
  2. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  3. Sear the steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak pieces in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned but still tender. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté the garlic: Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Make the creamy garlic sauce: Stir in heavy cream and beef broth, whisking to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, then add grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Combine the pasta and steak: Add cooked pasta and reserved pasta water to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. Return the steak to the skillet and mix gently to combine.
  7. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm. Pair with garlic bread or a fresh green salad.

Notes

[‘Pick a steak cut with good marbling for tenderness and flavor.’, ‘Salt your pasta water generously for better flavor.’, ‘Let the steak rest after cooking to retain its juices.’, ‘Taste the sauce as you go and adjust seasoning to your preference.’, ‘Use fresh garlic and Parmesan for the best flavor.’]
