Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) brewed strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk (whole milk or milk alternative like oat milk or almond milk)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or sweetener of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Crushed peppermint candy (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brew the coffee: Prepare 1 cup (240 ml) of strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso. Set aside.

  3. Add chocolate chips: Stir in 2 tablespoons of semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and fully incorporated. Reduce heat to low.
  4. Add peppermint extract: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract. Taste and adjust if needed.
  5. Combine coffee and chocolate mixture: Pour the brewed coffee into the saucepan with the chocolate mixture and stir well until combined.
  6. Serve: Pour the peppermint mocha into your favorite mug.
  7. Optional toppings: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle crushed peppermint candy or chocolate shavings for a festive touch.
