A warm, comforting holiday drink made with apple cider, orange juice, and spices, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.
Ingredients

- 4 cups apple cider
- 2 cups orange juice
- 1 cup cranberry juice (optional)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 6 whole cloves
- 2 star anise
- 1 small piece of fresh ginger, peeled
- 2 oranges, sliced into rounds
- Optional alcohol: rum, brandy, or bourbon
Instructions
- Slice the oranges into rounds and peel a small piece of fresh ginger.
- Pour the apple cider, orange juice, and cranberry juice into the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Drop in the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, star anise, and ginger. Adjust spice quantities to taste.
- Stir in the brown sugar. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
- Set the slow cooker to low and let the wassail simmer for 3–4 hours.
- Use a ladle to pour the wassail into mugs. Garnish with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick.
