Description
Tender chicken bathed in a velvety garlic parmesan sauce, perfect for cozy nights and hearty dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2–3 cloves garlic, freshly minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon flour (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Add 1 cup of heavy cream and whisk until combined. Slowly stir in 3/4 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. If the sauce feels too thin, whisk in 1 tablespoon of flour to thicken.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over each piece. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot. Pair with pasta, rice, or your favorite side dishes.
Notes
For best results, use freshly grated parmesan and fresh garlic. Avoid boiling the sauce to prevent separation. Customize with spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor.
